This Westport is in Ontario, roughly half way between Ottawa and Kingston. Loons are quite common on the Little Rideaux Lake by which is located the tiny town of Westport..

 

For the most part loons do not let you get too close, but sometimes they don't seem to mind me all that much. These pictures were taken from a kayak. In some cases I was about 10 feet away from the birds in the pictures.
